Forget what you know about the first game, though, The Crew 2 is a far bigger, more ambitious prospect than its forebear.
The Crew 2 promises to let you take another full road trip across the U.S., and Ubisoft plan to let you start your tour early thanks to an upcoming closed beta for the game.
The Crew 2 is the follow up to Ubisoft's open-world "CARPG" that featured a fully drivable map of the United States.
During closed beta testing, players will be able to take part in four disciplines: Street Racing, Powerboat, Rally Raid and Aerobatics. This closed beta will take place on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and selected players will be able to preload the game from May 29 on all platforms. Ubisoft also notes that players will be able to make full use of the vehicle transformation feature during the beta, dubbed Fast-Fav, and instantly switch between auto, plane, and boat at the push of a button.
That's not the only hook The Crew 2 has going for it, however.
The Crew 2's beta will feature the first level of the game's progression system in the entire open world which will see them take to the skies via plane, burning rubber in the streets of iconic cities, and coasting on the water under bridges like the Golden Gate Bridge.
The game's playground pushes physical boundaries to let driving and open world fans test their skills, solo or with friends, in non-stop competition and exploration.
Players will find challenges and inspiration among four different motorsports families: street racing, off-road, pro racing and freestyle, and will be given a broad set of options among a wide selection of vehicle types.
