Malek looks absolutely wonderful as Mercury.

The film has been in the works since at least 2010, when it was announced that Sacha Baron Cohen was to play Mercury; however, Baron Cohen left the project in 2013 citing "creative differences" with Mercury's former bandmates, with guitarist Brian May later calling Baron Cohen "an a**e".

In an interview with a United States radio station, Baron Cohen said the band wanted the death of Mercury to take place in the middle of the film, and for the second half of the film to follow the afterlife of the band. Bohemian Rhapsody is directed by Eddie the Eagle's Dexter Fletcher, who took over from Bryan Singer (X-Men) who was sacked mid-production.
Finally, a due date has been delivered.
Rami Malek seems to be operating on a whole other plane here, and I hope that the larger than life presence he depicts when on stage as Mercury also manages to filter through his performance as Mercury during the moments when he isn't on stage.

It ends with their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock.
