Packers Reportedly Not Interested in WR Dez Bryant

The Green Bay Packers have been a hot topic over the last few days with Dez Bryant being the primary reason.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant (88) yells to another player during warmups before an National Football League game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at FedEx Field in Hyattsville, Maryland. Bryant will likely have to keep looking for a new team as opportunities continue to dwindle throughout the offseason.

Dez Bryant most infamous catch in his entire career was actually a non-catch that has been argued for years now.

The Packers did have some interest in Bryant when he was first released by the Cowboys, according to the report.

The former Dallas Cowboys tight end predicted former teammate and now unemployed receiver Dez Bryant would sign with the Packers, calling Green Bay a "great fit" for the Cowboys' all-time leader in touchdown catches, but the team isn't expected to pursue him, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Green Bay needed a No. 1 wide receiver after releasing Jordy Nelson, and Bryant wants to be with a quarterback that can help boost his stats.

Bryant made six touchdowns in 2017 from 69 receives. That was before the Packers drafted three receivers in the draft two weeks ago, though. Over a month has passed since then, yet Bryant still hasn't found a new home. "He's motivated and I think he's going to end up going to the Green Bay Packers", Witten said on The Adam Schefter Podcast. "So, you partner him up with (tight end) Jimmy Graham and Aaron Rodgers, I think that offense can put up a lot of points". That'd give Bryant more than enough time to get accustomed to the offensive system and mesh with Rodgers. That simply hasn't happened and teams have been hesitant to consider signing Bryant due to his past antics both on and off the field.
