Super Eagles are heading to their sixth World Cup, having taken part in the 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010 and 2014 editions - with a place in the Round of 16 their best performance ever.

The list also includes defenders William Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo and Olaoluwa Aina, midfielders Wilfred Ndidi, Joel Obi and John Ogu and forwards Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon and Alex Iwobi.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation website, all players that made the 30-man provisional list have been asked to report at the Le Meridien Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo on Monday, May 21, 2018. I think the Eagles are facing some challenges in some departments, which the coaches are fighting hard to correct.

Most of the players that executed the qualification campaign to the football showpeice were included in the squad.

Home-based goalkeepers Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Dele Ajiboye, Francis Uzoho and Daniel Akpeyi made the cut.

"He is the surprise package for me".

The squad will further train together under the watchful eyes of Rohr before traveling to London for a friendly match with England on June 2, 2018.

"For me, the list is not bad, but I feel our goalkeeping and defence department are weak and how Rohr sets up the midfield will be crucial".

"So sad for the likes of Brown Ideye and Henry Onyekuru whose names were omitted from the list as they have both struggled in their efforts to get back to fitness ahead of the World Cup". The Nigerian team will play Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Port Harcourt on May 25, after which the final 23-man squad will be announced.
