Honor is bringing only the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version of the Honor 10 to India. As always, we'll keep you updated with the details regarding its availability stateside. The phone not only retains the 3.5 mm headphone jack but also uses a AK4376A Hi-Fi DAC for 32-bit/192kHz audio playback. It is powered by Huawei's in-house Kirin 970 processor that packs in its own dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for enabling dedicated AI functions inside the Honor 10. Also included in the smartphone is a display notch. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 layered on top. The Honor 10 is powered by the Kirin 970 SoC with Mali- G72 MP12 GPU.
To recall, Honor launched the Honor 7C and the Honor 7A in China back in March and its user manual was also uploaded to Honor India site recently, so we might see both the phones. While many smartphones that come with a notch and a display with aspect ratio of 18:9 or above don't have a home button or fingerprint scanner on the front, the Honor 10 on the contrary does have one.
That said, while the Honor 10 does look like the Huawei P20, it adopts a color scheme that's similar to the Twilight model of the Huawei P20 Pro. It is a available in a phantom blue, but those prefer a subtle look can go for the midnight black coloured option.
The front panel features a 5.84 IPS LCD panel of Full HD+ resolution at 19:9 ratio. Honor has earmarked this area with dots, to let you know that that's where you need to press to unlock your phone. Design-wise, the camera is located on the top left corner and is aligned horizontally with an LED flash on the inner edge. These are specs from the Chinese variant of the Honor 10, but as already mentioned, the global model will probably share majority, if not all of them. In Europe and the United Kingdom, the smartphone will be bundled with Monster Earphone II with Hi-Res Audio support, and a tailor-made sound profile for the Honor 10. "That's what we work hard for everyday at Honor".
Honor's latest handset boasts a P20-like color-shifting glass back, plus a 24-megapixel AI camera. Moreover, the rear camera of the Honor 10 also features Phase Detection Autofocus. The AI and the setup together facilitate features like 3D Portrait Lighting and HDR.
Max brightness levels don't match the quoted 1000 nits brightness of LG's flagship G7 ThinQ and the Honor 10 isn't Mobile HDR certified. It will be available exclusively from Flipkart for Rs. 32,999.
