Guillermo del Toro is making a new Netflix horror anthology series

Here's something worth celebrating: Netflix is giving Guillermo del Toro his very own horror anthology series.

Deadline is reporting that the streaming service has ordered 10 After Midnight, the first original horror anthology series for Netflix. A new Guillermo Del Toro project is always terribly exciting news, and it turns out the director has found a new home for his menagerie of monsters: Netflix.

He might be taking it a little easier on the cinematic directorial front after Oscar success with The Shape Of Water, but don't expect Guillermo del Toro to take that much of a break. Del Toro has form in this kind of role - one of his first directing gigs was with Mexican anthology series La Hora Marcada, critically acclaimed within Mexico as their answer to The Twilight Zone.

Netflix hasn't announced a release date for Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight as of yet. For 10 After Midnight, he will re-team with his Shape of Water producer J. Miles Dale, who will serve as an executive producer along with Gary Ungar. The third season of Trollhunters will premiere on May 25, 2018. He's the mastermind behind some of the most iconic characters in cinematic history, including Hellboy, Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth, and many others. Netflix also picked up anthology horror series Slasher previous year from defunct Canadian channel Chiller.

Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight is a Netflix production. The streaming giant has given De Toro a straight-to-series order.
