State Highway Patrol identifies couple killed in Coshocton County plane crash

Emergency crews have responded to an apparent plane crash in western Albemarle County near Crozet, WVAW reports.

A small plane that flew out of Elyria Monday morning crashed about 70 miles south, leaving two people dead.

A family member tells KENS 5 Bray leaves behind a wife and three daughters.


Friends and family of 22-year-old Helena Lagos describe her as having a lively personality and being an entrepreneur who was going to do big things.

The flight was heading for DeLand, Florida, according to WBNS in Columbus, DeLand sits on the east coast of the state, west of Daytona and North of Orlando.

The winds Sunday night in Crozet would have been enough to buffet the small plane, but the fixed-wing aircraft is created to fly though severe turbulence. No structures were threatened. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to authorities.
