SEGA Announces Sega Ages for Nintendo Switch

Earlier today, SEGA promised to announce extremely important news at SEGA FES 2018 and delivered four impressive announcements out of which most of the announcements made were predictable. A photo of the console being held, as well as a close-up image of the device, were posted on the official Japanese SEGA Twitter account.

This new may be a bit disappointing to Switch owners hoping the SEGA Mega Drive Collection would arrive on the console, but it's a start we suppose.

Sega is getting in on the nostalgic, miniature console trend.

The upcoming Sega Mega Drive Collection has a May 29 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC. What we don't know is what games the console will come with. Since M2 has a really good reputation for handling emulation of the re-released games especially with the Sega Ages title.

The titles will have a simultaneous development in Japan, North America, and Europe.

SEGA did say that developer M2 will be responsible for the Switch ports of those classic SEGA games. The reassurance from Mullen that we'll see some "eclectic arcade titles" is nice, too, promising that even die-hard Sega fans might find some brand new old games to mix with their favorites. We've reached out to Sega for details on whether the lineup will be released in the West.
