NBA Playoffs Recap: No. 2 Boston vs. No. 7 Milwaukee

"But as of right now, Game 7 [or the] second round is the [goal]".

Game 2 of the series is Tuesday in Boston. The two teams split their four matchups this season.

The sixth-seeded Pelicans were the only road team to win on the opening day of the playoffs.

In Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward and Marcus Smart, the Boston Celtics have almost $54 million in salary sidelined due to injury as they begin the 2018 postseason, but that doesn't mean they are without hope.

Kyrie Irving, out for the rest of the season following knee surgery, and Marcus Smart (rehabbing from right thumb surgery) sat at the end of the Boston bench.

The "kids" on the squad came through on the big stage as Rozier scored eight of his 23 points in overtime, Jaylen Brown scored 20 points while playing nearly 46 minutes, and rookie Jayson Tatum scored 19 points to go with 10 rebounds in 44 minutes. Seldom has Milwaukee been at full strength this season, but health is nary a worry at the moment this postseason.

While these are all reasons for Celtics fans to worry as they enter their fourth postseason in a row - and second-straight with home-court advantage in the first two rounds - we haven't gotten into the struggles of the Bucks. He has seemed to be everywhere, grabbing timely rebounds, creating second chances and playing admirable defense on Antetokounmpo (35 points notwithstanding).

"Our very first team meeting we had this season, we watched the last three minutes of Game 6", Terry said Saturday. The two young guns will need to keep up that pace to help provide enough offensive punch for the C's, as they try to navigate a previously expected extended playoff run.

Stevens said he plans to have a lot of different people on him, but the main man will be Al Horford, as he said: "We have to throw a lot of different bodies at him".

Who more so than Rozier?

Many fear the injuries will prove too much to overcome against Giannis Antetokounmpo aka the Greek Freak.

The Celtics are 20 in the league in scoring offense with 104 points per game. The Warriors covered the spread at -3.5, while the game comfortably went over the total of 200.5 points.

If there is a silver lining for the Celtics it's that they went 14-8 without Irving for the last 22 games.

Pelicans 97, Trail Blazers 95: Anthony Davis had 35 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks, and visiting New Orleans beat Portland in Game 1 of their playoff series. Couple one of those guys with the Greek Freak and it could be awfully tough sledding for Boston. Interim coach Joe Prunty's squad, meanwhile, was 17th in defensive rating, giving up more than five extra points per 100 possessions compared to the Celtics. The victor of this series would play the victor of the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat in the next round.

It was 92-91 with less than a minute to play when a pair of free throws by Horford made it 94-91.
