Court Rebukes Advocate General

BJP spokesperson Sunil Seth said the final decision to induct ministers would be taken by party high command.

Minister for Forests and Environment Chaudhary Lal Singh and Industries and Commerce Minister Chander Prakash Ganga had supported a demand by the Hindu Ekta Manch that the case be handed over to CBI for investigation. "And if PDP and BJP continue to resolve their issues like this, I see there is no substitute to this alliance". "They are contending that the workers were not happy with them", sources said.

Reacting to Singh's claim that he had visited Kathua along with Ganga to "defuse tension", former Chief Minister and opposition National Conference (NC) working president, Omar Abdullah in a tweet said, "I don't understand how inciting the local people to protest & how threatening the police against making any arrests was meant "to defuse tension".

Three cases have been filed against the party legislator under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

The 18-page chargesheet in the Kathua rape case stated that the girl was gangraped inside a temple, where she was confined using sedatives. "Jammu lawyers have been on strike for the last 12 days demanding, besides other things, a CBI probe in this case".

Atul Singh was arrested on April 10 for allegedly beating the rape survivor's father- who later died in judicial custody.
