Whether you begin as an Ewok defending your homeland and stalking your Imperial enemy, or as a stormtrooper fighting to escape the ambush, players can fight through the night for control of Endor in the all-new Ewok Hunt mode.
The catch is that the Imperials, much like the real-world force they're modeled after, can not survive an extended war of attrition: Players start the mode as either an Ewok or a Stormtrooper, but every Stormtrooper felled respawns as an Ewok. As each Stormtrooper is defeated they'll spawn as an Ewok until all Stormtroopers have been eliminated. Real-world currency can only be used to purchase Crystals, which are only redeemable for Appearances (learn more about Crystals in our FAQ). Similarly players will be able to earn crystals by beating in-game milestones.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 will get some new, Endor-themed cosmetic items for existing characters, namely Endor Han and Endor Leia.
Starting on April 18, players can jump into a new, limited-time mode, unlock special Appearances via Crystals and/or Credits and more in the Star Wars Battlefront II Night on Endor update. The update is also set to roll out the first wave of cosmetic appearances that are available via the re-worked microtransactions model.
The mode, which is called Ewok Hunt, takes place on the forest moon of Endor during the night, and is between Ewoks and stormtroopers. As many of you have suspected, all our focus was on the Progression Update, as we felt this was the most important improvement to the game that we needed to make.
Remember that there's a new Challenge every day and a bonus one over each weekend. You can read about the official details posted down below.
Going forward, DICE implied that they want to keep up a monthly cadence of smaller content releases, while also providing larger multiple-month Seasons that will pair with big events like Star Wars film releases an anniversaries in the Star Wars universe.
