Twitch Prime subscribers will get free monthly games, starting this week

Twitch Prime is introducing a new feature this week that will let subscribers access a selection of PC games for free.

Twitch has handed out free games to its Prime members in the past, such as Devil May Cry HD, Banner Saga 1 & 2, and Titan Souls, but on an uneven schedule for a limited time. Shifty will be a bonus. Shifty, and Tales from Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation.

Five other titles will be offered to fans next month, including Tales from the Borderlands, SteamWorld Dig 2, Kingsway, Tokyo 42, and Dubwars.

At this point, it's unclear the extent of this Twitch Prime program, especially considering how the users will be able to download the games, if only indie titles will be selected, how long this program will run or if players can get preference with their digital codes.

In a way this is similar to Microsoft's Games with Gold program except for Twitch members. Now Twitch seems to be getting in on the action for Twitch Prime users. Amazon Prime subscribers also automatically get Twitch Prime subcription. And of course if you want to see any of those games in action, guess what, there will be folks at Twitch showcasing the gameplay. If you're wondering what Twitch Prime is, it's basically just connecting your Amazon Prime account to your Twitch account. With the addition of free PC games every month, Amazon is making the subscription even more interesting for regular Amazon users. These titles will be available to claim until March 31.

If you're already an Amazon Prime subscriber, becoming a Twitch Prime member is as simple as linking your Amazon and Twitch accounts. Oxenfree is a moody adventure game, Superhot is a stylish FPS with a cool gimick.
