Realtech VR, is working on remasters of the first three Tomb Raider games that will be playable on 1080p or Full HD resolution with 60 frames per second. Each will utilize a new 3D engine that allows for better lighting effects and shadowing.
In case you're one of those who began their PC third-person role playing genre with games like Tomb Raider 1 or 2, then you're in for a treat.
It is a confirmed fact: Those who own the original Tomb Raider games on Steam will be gifted their respective Remastered editions, free of charge! Now, don't get your hopes up for some magical Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy ground up remake, because these aren't that, but rather completely true to the original ports of the original games into a new game engine.
- realtech VR (@realtech_VR) March 1, 2018The port is relying on Steam because we won't provide game data. In that sense, we can't help but bring up the 2013 video game reboot.
Luckily, there are remasters coming for each of the three games.
Realtech VR is anticipating a trailer lease in April with more details on the development to follow. And because the old Tomb Raider games are often sold at a discount on Valve's platform for less than $2, players can get the remastered editions for quite cheap.
All the remasters of the game also fully support the Xbox 360/Xbox One controller, including the Unfinished Business & The Golden Mask DLC and integrate multiple fixes. There will be news in the upcoming months. Let us know your thoughts down below! As always, stay tuned for anything gaming-related!
