Arkansas beats Florida in SEC quarterfinals

Florida scored 8 consecutive points with 12:49 left in the 1st Half, making the game 18-10 in favor of Florida. Keith Stone led Florida's team in scoring with 22 points, while shooting 8 of 10 (80%) from the field. It wasn't just the number of points Barford scored that was so impressive, but rather when - and how - he scored them. In the first, Barford had 28 points and five rebounds and the Razorbacks defeated the Volunteers 95-93.

"I shoot every day, but I guess it was kind of like a H-O-R-S-E shot", Barford said. For the Gamecocks, Chris Silva had 15 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the No. 11 seed Gamecocks (17-16.) USC advanced to the second round with a win over MS on Wednesday night.

"We fit the criteria, but it's not my decision", SC coach Frank Martin said. "Outside of that, we'll stay home". The Tennessee Volunteers are shooting 37.7 percent from beyond the arc and 75.2 percent from the free throw line. On the other side, the under is 4-1 in the Razorbacks' last five games versus a team with a winning record and is 5-2 in their last seven games coming off an ATS loss.

"This guy is capable of going off and going on runs by himself", Razorbacks coach Mike Anderson said.

Arkansas won the rebounding battle 43-29, and both teams took care of the ball with Arkansas having an edge in forced turnovers, 9-6.

Arkansas' potent inside-outside attack was more than Florida could handle in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, even with the Gators' luxury of the double bye in the bracket. Jaylen Barford is averaging 17.9 points and 3.9 rebounds while Daryl Macon is averaging 17 points and four assists.

Arkansas was able to hold off SC to come out with a 69-64 win in the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament on Thursday night.

Arkansas: Sophomore Adrio Bailey started at power forward on Thursday night for Arkansas in place of Dustin Thomas, who was kicked off the team earlier this week for violating team rules.

Jordan Bone scored 17 first half points and shot 8/11 from the floor.
