Well, Snapchat has too rolled out a new feature, which does exactly that.
The new update is the first since a controversial new version of the app changed everything for Snapchatters. Although we blame Snapchat for cloning Instagram, these GIFs in stories are only the best thing ever, so we don't exactly mind it so much.
Interestingly, Instagram launched this GIF stickers feature last month for the app.
Press the Stickers button in the toolbar, it kinda looks like a folded over piece of paper. Then select the GIPHY header, or type something into the search field if you are looking to find something specific. GIFs can be resized and moved around or added multiple times.
Animated stickers and GIFs also work with video snaps. With this feature, users will be able to separate out items for easier discovery and browsing, especially among the huge Discover content section.
"While the recent redesign of [Snap's] flagship app could produce positive long-term benefits, [there is a] significant jump in negative app reviews since the redesign was pushed out a few weeks, which could result in a decline in users and user engagement, and could negatively impact financial results", analysts Mark May and Hao Yan wrote.
The app's new design is a marked departure from its previous layout and was supposed to make the software easier to navigate.
It has now been signed by more than 1.2 million people, and is still growing quickly.
Snap CEO Evan Spiegel recently reiterated the company's commitment to stick with the new design in an appearance at a Goldman Sachs investor event, where he told critics that they were proving the company right.
