Julia Louis-Dreyfus reveals she had surgery for breast cancer

In January, Louis-Dreyfus watched this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards from the comfort of her own home - despite being a nominee!

In her September announcement, she wrote she is lucky to have "the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance though my union".

And Julia Louis-Dreyfus kept her followers informed of her progress as she posted a gorgeous selfie on Instagram Wednesday afternoon.

"Veep", the hit HBO comedy in which she plays star Selina Meyer, announced in November it had postponed production of the show's seventh and final season to accommodate Louis-Dreyfus' treatment.

The 57-year-old actress was positively beaming as she shared her "first post-op photo" to her almost two million followers across social media.

Louis-Dreyfus, 57, has been posting on social media about her determination to fight cancer. Hey cancer, [expletive] you!' "Today, I'm the one", she tweeted at the time. "So honored to win". Miss being at the table with you all.

Julia has continually shared updates about her journey through chemotherapy and her cancer battle. We've seen [Julia], she's done some table reads, she's doing well, she's finished her last chemo, she's in recuperation.

The actress received her cancer diagnosis one day after the Emmys, where she won the Best Actress trophy.
