Allegiant Announces New Destination out of XNA

Allegiant officials announced their calling VPS home by making the airport a year-round aircraft base.

"Allegiant's new announcement is such great news for the people of Okaloosa County".

Allegiant announced Tuesday it will offer direct flights from Lexington to Destin, Florida.

"Northwest Arkansas is a rapidly growing and economically diverse region of this country", said Kelly Johnson, Airport Director.

Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport will become the airline´s 14th year-round aircraft base.

Low-priced airline Allegiant will establish a two-aircraft year-round base at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS), creating about 65 new jobs and adding service to five new cities. The new flights will bring almost 25,000 additional visitors to the area. One-way fares on the new route start as low as $62.
