The makers of PadMan had agreed to postpone the release of their film on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's request, given the massive hurdles that Padmaavat had been facing. But this is not the first time this has happened to a Deepika Padukone film.
Released on 25 January, 2018, the film collected a whopping Rs.166.50 crore in Week 1 only. Padmaavat also proves Deepika's game is strong. The film was made on a budget of Rs 180 crore with an additional Rs 20 crore spent on converting it into a 3D version.
A trade source explains, "Hikes are the order of the day when you deliver a box office hit".
"For me, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor's contribution in the film is something that I'll always cherish because I think it was very gracious and big-hearted of them, to give so much to this film and I am happy that together we get to celebrate the success of the film", said Deepika. But the interesting part here is to see how Salman's mother Salma Khan too was a part of this intimate meeting at Karan Johar's house, along with Deepika and Ranveer. YJHD earned a sum of Rs 188.57 crore. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh has done a magnificent business on its third Saturday adding Rs 6.30 crores. The film distributors and theatre owners in the city had two days back, agreed to screen the film on February 9 after the state government assured to provide adequate security cover.
