The new season of Jessica Jones look to dive headfirst into the mystery of how the vigilante's family were killed and why she got her powers. Given the first season's rich, skillful handling of sexual assault, domestic abuse, and the trauma that results from both, it's not an exaggeration to say we have never needed this show more.
With Jessica Jones Season 2, we're getting back to her demented side. The end of the trailer also hints at the return of David Tennant's Kilgrave. Up next for Netflix we're getting Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2.
The new season also has plenty of the familiar sights from the first season as well as her appearances in other Marvel shows.
As Jessica Jones is one of Marvel's and Netflix's strongest characters, it makes complete sense why Netflix and Marvel would roll out the new season to celebrate International Women's Day. Her ties to IGH was one of season one's biggest unanswered questions, and it felt like they set that up to pay it off soon.
There are brief moments of levity, such as her eye roll when an excitable child asks her: 'Do you know Captain America?'
Jessica Jones, in its first season, was a fascinating take on trauma, coping (or not), and how the past can distort the future.
