The difference that two years can make! The "Auto Expo - The Motor Show" 2018 is being held from February 9-14, at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

Tata Motors CEO Guenter Butschek believes that, if electric vehicles account for 20-25% of all registered vehicles in India by 2025, it could be considered a "splendid job".

In the Indian Auto Expo 2018, Toyota is ready to launch its new Alfred MPV.

In a departure from the general trend, offerings from two of the country's homegrown vehicle manufacturers hogged much of the spotlight on the opening day.

New electric vehicles are the flavour of Auto Expo 2018 and all manufacturers are showcasing their electric concept cars, two-wheelers and buses. The company is already reported to be working on a budget electric auto like the other home grown manufacturers like Tata and Mahindra.

Furthermore, in November 2017, the automotive company announced a partnership with Coimbatore-headquartered Jayem Auto to launch an EV version of Tata Nano. The new concept vehicle has been designed in India by Maruti Suzuki and gives us a glimpse of the design language that the automaker could follow in the future.

The ConceptFutureS will be one of the company's few cars - others being Alto, WagonR and Vitara Brezza - where the Indian team has been involved the most. It will be the first of the products to be rolled out from the company's plant in Andhra Pradesh, where it has invested $1 billion and will have a capacity of 3 lakh units annually.

Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, "We had made a commitment to launch several new products every year".

With the theme "Smart Mobility, Smart Cities", the company's display here at the Auto Expo is focusing on intelligently-connected cities created to offer convenience, safety, security, and efficiency to its customers.

Tata Motors also showcased six new electric vehicles across passenger and public transport segments.
