The system is supposed to be supported by every device that launches with Android Oreo, however, it's also open to devices are updated to the new software at a later date. The revelation comes from SamMobile following the Oreo rollout to the aforementioned devices in Germany earlier today. After all, the beta testers too deserve some appreciation.

A user in Vietnam has apparently received Android 8.0 Oreo update on their Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Well, it is finally here and you would soon receive the update on your Galaxy S8 phone. You can go ahead and check for the update manually to download it to your device.

Samsung has just ended the Oreo Beta testing program a couple of weeks ago on January 15th. However, the update is now only rolled out in Germany, and, it is first being rolled out to those who were a part of the beta program. Like with any other major Android updates, make sure you back up your sensitive data before you upgrade, and that you have enough battery life, as well as access to an internet connection, to perform the update. Like all other software updates, the over-the-air (OTA) release of the Oreo update will be gradual, so don't get impatient if the update notification doesn't pop up on your phone. However, according to SamMobile, everyone else now running Android 7.x Nougat will start receiving the update starting tomorrow (at least in the German market).
