New Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition Goes Beyond the Season Pass

Final Fantasy 15 is about to get a heaping helping of even more DLC on March 6, when FF15: Royal Edition comes to PS4 and Xbox One.

Square Enix has announced that it's bundling Final Fantasy XV and all of its Season Pass content and bringing it to Xbox One this March. Dubbed the Royal Edition, this complete Final Fantasy 15 collection will include all prior released content, including DLC episodes, as well as some new goodies.

A new map called Insomnia City Ruins will be available for players to explore.

You can also now control the Royal Vessel boat, that takes you from Cape Caem to Atlissia, and there's some new Yoshitaka Amano artwork for cover, if you like that sort of thing. Once you unlock all 13 Royal Weapons, you'll be able to activate the Armiger Unleashed mode. A first-person mode is now a selectable, as well as new gear and additional bosses within the game. Unfortunately, the announcement trailer below doesn't show what that new feature will look like, but it must have been a major undertaking for Square Enix.

Players will also be able cruise around in a swanky new vehicle, with FFXV's Royal Vessel now at your disposal. DLC weapons, Regalia auto skins, and item sets will reportedly be included.

When Final Fantasy XV released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in late 2016, it blew critics and audiences away with a handsome open world environment and action-packed combat that was a drastic departure from previous titles. The PC version of the game will launch on Steam, Origin and Windows 10. It's worth noting that for owners of the current version of the game, you'll be able to purchase the new content as a Royal Pack, which will cost $20.
