John Cena has already announced that he'll be competing in this year's Royal Rumble match, but the announcements aren't stopping there as WWE's hottest free agent has taken to Twitter to tease something huge.
PWInsider has reported that former Women's Hardcore champion Molly Holly and former Divas champion Michelle McCool could both be surprise entrants in the women's Royal Rumble on January 28. One of them is confirmed while the other could be on the way.
Holly hasn't worked a match for the WWE since the women's battle royal at WrestleMania 25, and she is now a trainer at Shawn Daivari and Ken Anderson's Academy Wrestling School in Minneapolis. McCool, also a former champion, is the wife of WWE legend The Undertaker (who may also be wrestling this year at WrestleMania).
McCool has not wrestled for the company since losing a "Loser Leaves WWE" match to Layla at Extreme Rules in May of 2011.
Both Holly and McCool have appeared on WWE television since their wrestling departures, notably on the WWE Network's Table For Three program. Her May 18th, 2016 appearance also featured McCool. There are not 30 womens wrestlers now employed on the main roster, so this means we're scheduled to get several NXT women called up for the show, some faces from the past, or a combination of both.
The Undertaker and John Cena are both being advertised for the upcoming 25th anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw in a few weeks, so it's possible that WWE will be looking to shoot an angle to kick off the feud at the big event.
