Allegations of sexual misconduct involving the 39-year-old emerged in force on Twitter on Sunday night during the Golden Globes, where Franco won best actor, musical or comedy for his role as Tommy Wiseau.

On Thursday, theLos Angeles Times quoted Franco's two former students as well as three more as saying that the actor acted in a sexually inappropriate way towards them.

TMZ reports that the actor is "extremely upset" and "frustrated" that he's being accused of acting inappropriately with more than five women, and he's "in a bad place" trying to deal with the negative stories about him. Franco answers all the questions positively and says that the allegations are not accurate at all.

This is unedited, unformatted feed from the Press Trust of India wire.

Franco addressed the controversy directly in an appearance on CBS's "The Late Show" on Tuesday, denying the accusations.

A former mentee, Violet Paley, also shared her story with the publication, and claimed that Franco had once pressured her to perform sexual acts on him while in his vehicle.

Franco also is nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award for the role at a January 21 ceremony in Los Angeles. "I got really nervous, and I said, 'Can we do this later?' He was kind of nudging my head down, and I just didn't want him to hate me, so I did it", she said.

Another student, Sarah Tither-Kaplan, 26, alleged that Franco removed protective guards covering other actresses' vaginas while stimulating oral sex on them during filming of The Long Home in May 2015. The things that I heard that were on Twitter are not accurate. She wrote in now-deleted tweets, "James Franco just won". I directed her in a play off-Broadway.

"And if I have to take a knock because I'm not going to try and actively refute things, then I will because I believe in it that much". I think that it's a good thing and I support it. She also took to Twitter the night of the Golden Globes to express her exasperation with Franco proudly wearing his "Time's Up" pin.

"Given the controversy surrounding recent allegations, we're no longer comfortable proceeding in that vein", a spokesman said.

She said: "I was talking to him, all of a sudden his penis was out".

Four of the women making the allegations were Franco's students at his film classes at Studio 4, which was abruptly shut down, and Playhouse West, according the LA Times.
