Democrats want to interview Ivanka Trump in Russian Federation probe

After Trump's tweets, Senate Judiciary Committee chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said he would not be having a discussion with the president about taking control of the investigation.

Republicans have criticized Democrats for trying to draw out the probe and say there's no clear evidence of collusion between Trump and Russian Federation. There was no collusion, everybody including the Dems knows there was no collusion, & yet on and on it goes.

Committee Democrats have also been accused of being behind a leak of inaccurate details of an email sent to Trump Jr. during the presidential campaign. Russian Federation & the world is laughing at the stupidity they are witnessing.

Trump's suggestion in his tweet on Wednesday that "Republicans should finally take control" strongly indicated that he wants the party to do anything and everything it can to prevent the investigation from coming to an embarrassing - and potentially incriminating - conclusion for himself, or those he's close to.

"All I see of these Democrats, like Adam Schiff - it's all he does, he'll have a meeting, and then he'll leave, and he'll call up the meeting, and then I'll have a meeting and then he'll leave", President Trump said. "I also think that primary collusion, because there was no collusion on our side, the collusion was on the Democrat side with the Russians". But his investigation has already resulted in Trump's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about conversations with Russia's ambassador. "By the way, that's a treasonous act".

Trump was referring to a series of text messages between Peter Strzok, one of the FBI's top Russian counterintelligence experts, and Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer Lisa Page.

President Donald Trump's daughter did, however, "briefly [speak] with two of the participants, a Russian lawyer and a Russian-born Washington lobbyist", the LA Times reported. An attorney for Trump Jr couldn't be reached for comment, and an Ivanka Trump attorney had no immediate comment.

The text messages were released to lawmakers on Capitol Hill in December and Republicans have seized on the messages as proof that Mueller's probe is biased against Trump. Among the witnesses he wants to interview: Ivanka Trump, plus he says the panel should consider issuing a subpoena to Trump Jr. for information he withheld during his classified hearing a year ago. And he says the GOP has not supported efforts to get information from the White House about the firing of former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, saying the White House has ignored bipartisan requests while the GOP has done little to pursue it.
