Armored Vehicle Driven Through Russian Storefront in Reported Robbery Attempt

The man stole the vehicle from a privately-run motorsport training ground, drove it through a forest and into Apatity, a small town just south of the Arctic circle, local news agency Hibinform said.

A drunk Russian man was detained after stealing an armoured personnel carrier and smashing it into a convenience store on Wednesday, reports said.

An drunken man in northwest Russian Federation stole an armored vehicle and crashed it into a shop window, wrecking a nearby auto.

Local News agencies reported that he badly damaged a parked auto before crashing into the front of a supermarket.

He also crushed a vehicle parked nearby, images showed. Witnesses believed the man was intoxicated at the time, which seems apparent. The man then proceeded to hop out of the tank, inspect the damage and then make his way into the store to steal that coveted bottle of wine.

Russian TV channel Vesti said the suspect was also "bored" which it cited as the reason why the man stole the tank. The Independent notes "the shop was not licensed to sell alcohol that early in the morning".

CCTV footage from the store shows the vehicle being driven through a window at the front of the building.
