Peter Lau did not confirm whether OnePlus will release a second device by the end of the year, if they do it will probably be the OnePlus 6T following on from the same pattern as the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus has a foolproof plan ready for 2018. OnePlus 5T was one of the favourite smartphones of 2017, thanks to its killer combination of top-notch features and specifications in a reasonably priced package. Huawei was all set to announce the Mate 10 Pro at the CES 2018 in partnership with AT&T as its first carrier phone for the US, but the latter pulled out from the deal right before the event due to some US-China issues. Turns out, the so-called OnePlus 6 will be coming out sometime in June. The company continued doing this until the OnePlus 3 in 2016, when the company finally ditched the process and had enough resources to start selling unlocked devices online directly to customers. Similar to the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 6 is expected to arrive around June which is a couple of months after the Galaxy S9 is launched at MWC 2018.
In terms of sales, the OnePlus 5T is their fastest and best-selling product yet and they are looking to increase its reach through U.S. telcos this year.
OnePlus is still churning out new variants of the OnePlus 5T for people to buy, but that hasn't stopped it from talking about the phone's sequel. Most recently, the company also released a special Sandstone White version of the 5T, which sold out nearly instantly in the U.S. As already reported, this deal fell through and the Chinese firm's CEO blasted US carriers for the failed arrangement.
The Snapdragon 845 was announced in December a year ago, and Samsung is expected to be the first to use the new processor for its Galaxy S9.
