In spite of all the signs that would potentially indicate a potential move to Spain, Thibaut Courtois has made it very clear that he is content at Stamford Bridge. "I love my children to death", he told Belgian television channel VTM following Chelsea's 1-0 defeat at West Ham.

Courtois has just 18 months left on his Chelsea contract, and he recently made a decision to postpone talks on an extension until the end of the season.

Courtois spent a spell on loan at Atletico Madrid between 2011 and 2014 and his two children are now being raised there, leaving him keen to make the move to join them.

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Courtois for some time, while local rivals Atletico Madrid could also look to re-sign their former loan star.

Thibaut Courtois believes he will sign a new Chelsea deal.

"In the media they're always talking about money". I am happy at Chelsea.

'I like playing here, it's a nice city, but of course I'm thinking about my private situation. "I just want to wait [over contract talks] because now there are many games and I prefer to have my head focused on that".

Should the latter move on, Atletico would have the necessary funds to complete a move to re-sign Courtois.

Courtois, 24, could reject a new Blues deal even if they agree to double his £100,000-a-week wages - SunSport told you he could leave for free in 2019.

"Not for Chelsea, not for me". The club knows that too.
