Gymnastics doctor jailed for 60 years for child porn

U.S. District Judge Janet Neff in Grand Rapids, Michigan handed down the sentences sought by prosecutors, who said there was a link between Nassar's child-pornography activities and his "prolific molestation of children", according to court documents. On Wednesday, 2012 Olympic champion McKayla Maroney's attorneys released a wrenching victim impact statement that she wrote about Larry Nassar, the former MSU and USA Gymnastics doctor.


Maroney and Olympians Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas have said that they too were assaulted by Nassar, who worked with USA Gymnastics as a trainer and medical coordinator.

"I was deeply saddened by the stories of my fellow Olympic teammates that suffered as I did at the hands of Larry Nassar". "As it turns out, much to my demise, Dr. Nassar was not a doctor, he in fact is, was, and forever shall be, a child molester, and a monster of a human being".

"He abused my trust, abused my body and left scars on my psyche that may never heal", McKayla told the court in her letter.

Mckayla, along with several other Team USA national gymnasts reported incidents to ESPN were Nassar abused them in their dorm rooms at the Karolyi Ranch and villages at the Olympics, despite a USA Gymnastics policy which forbids adults from being alone with minors.

John Manly, a California-based attorney representing the victims in the civil lawsuit, said rather than apologizing or trying to help the victims, MSU and USA Gymnastics have instead offered a "hardball legal strategy under the guise of chic PR words".

One of the drives was at the top of the trash. The hard drives were found by investigators because the trash truck on his street was late.

The drives included images and videos of young girls mostly under the age of 12, including some as young as 6. MI authorities arrested him last November, and in December, federal authorities added child pornography charges. At 14, she made the National Team and was introduced to Nassar. She sentenced Nassar to 60 years, 20 for each of the three counts to which he pleaded guilty.
