The day began with Vishal (real name Vishal Krishna) filing his nomination papers from RK Nagar, which fell vacant after the demise of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa in 2016. Later Vishal gave a telephonic audio clip for a clarity, the EC is said to have accepted his nomination.
Asked about the reason for rejecting the papers, the official had said that it was "technical".
After that, Vishal takes the next step by escalating this issue to the Prime Minister and the President of India, through Twitter.
"After much struggle, my nomination for the RK Nagar election is finally accepted Truth Always Triumphs!", Vishal tweeted.
Logically, Getting 10 people to propose such a candidate for a nomination is not hard Even If forged, and there seems no reason for that in this case, Those proposers being aware of the same and approaching the EC with an objection in 24 hrs, unlikely. "Totally unfair. I bring this to your notice & I hope justice prevails", he said in the tweet.
Vishal had filed the nomination papers for the RK Nagar constituency as an Independent candidate and was happy that the other two independent candidates had extended their support to him. The person also threatened that it will be rejected even if I filed it.
But late on Tuesday night, the Returning Officer announced the rejection of Vishal's nomination after two persons who had signed the papers said their signatures were forged.
Later after meeting the Election Commission officials, Vishal told the media: "My nomination has been accepted. It is just a gut feeling and I want to contest the election." stated the actor as per a leading portal.
Along with several of his supporters, the actor staged a sit-in on the road near the office of the returning officer in North Chennai protesting the decision to reject his papers.
Deepa who earlier spoke to TNM said that, "The AIADMK is scared of Vishal's star power. The audio recording that you all heard is true", he told reporters.
