An natural disaster measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted the hill state of Uttarakhand on Wednesday, according to reports. According to an officer at Seismology, The epicenter is in Uttarakhand and the tremors felt in Delhi and NCR are the impulses. No immediate loss of life or property was reported.
Uttarakhand, a part of the Himalayan region, falls under a high seismic zone. Strong tremors were felt in Delhi and other areas across northern India.
This is the second quake in Uttarakhand in the past 24 hours.
Earlier today, a 3.5 magnitude quake hit Rajkot, Rapar districts of Gujarat.
