The Finnish company, which has released several devices this year after acquiring Nokia, is holding an event on January 19, 2018 in China and the much-hyped Nokia 9 is expected to be announced on the day, according to a report by My Drivers site (in Chinese). The phone will be customized for a Chinese market, which is where it will likely release exclusively for the first part of the launch. The Nokia 9 will be HMD's true flagship smartphone with all the current generation flagship smartphone features, whereas the Nokia 8 (2018) will be an incremental update to the already existing Nokia 8. Reports also suggest, alongside the Nokia 9, HMD Global may also unveil another phone - which may the 2018 edition of the Nokia 8.
Nokia 9 has been part of major leaks in the past and it was expected to arrive before the end of this year. The phone will come in two RAM variants - one with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage while the high-end variant will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Alongside the launch date and images of the Nokia 9, some of the specs and also the price of the phone have been leaked online.
The normal cost of Nokia 9 6GB/64GB model is $560, while the other 6GB/128GB variation will cost you $635.
In a recent report by MyDrivers, the HMD Global will be launching its upcoming smartphone, Nokia 9 on Jan 19.
