Android: Whether they're front and centre or lurking behind the scenes, almost every app is taking a nibble (or a huge bite) out of your mobile data. Want to download the app? You could comb through your phone's stats and see which app is using the bulk of your data plan, or you could install Datally, Google's new data management app. "If your app displays interstitial ads or other ads that interfere with normal use, they must be easily dismissable without penalty", the policy states. It will also be recommending ways in cutting down the data usage that's based on your usage activity and will suggest you nearby connections on Wi-Fi for your phone to be connected.

The Datally app provides you the information on the consumption of bandwidth.

Secondly, it also help users block background data usage and track real-time data usage while using each of the apps. The app will only allow the data to be used by another app that is active onscreen.

Talking about apps, Google calls Socratic: Math Answers & Homework Help as the best Android app in 2017.

Eden Rose Artuz, 23 a user of the Datally since November 2016, when it was launched for pilot testing, said the application helped her monitor her data usage which she usually uses to communicate with her colleagues and clients of her online business. The company stated that people who have been using their app have managed to save around 30% of their data.

Now as we know 2017 is coming to an end, Google has shared a list of apps on Play Store. The initiative's main focus is on making Google products more user-friendly in countries that don't have much high-end hardware.

The Datally app takes about 6MB of space, so it's easy on your phone's storage.
