Search continues for missing Jacksonville teen and grandmother

At this point, JSO says 15-year-old Logan Mott is still missing, as is the silver Dodge Dart.

It's a tragic update in the days-long search to find a missing 15-year-old and his grandmother.

Logan's father, Eric Mott, is a 17-year veteran of the sheriff's office. They may be traveling in a 2015, silver Dodge Dart, with a Florida tag number of DLLT42.

Mott is believed to be armed and unsafe. "They appear consistent with the description of Kristina French, but there will be no positive identification until the autopsy is completed by the medical examiner", says JSO's Director of Investigations, Ron Lendvay. Logan's mother said it has not been confirmed that the body is that of French, but authorities believe it is her. The missing persons case is believed to be related to the large police presence, including crime scene units, in Neptune Beach, near Jacksonville. JSO said they have video surveillance from south central Pennsylvania of a person matching his description, in a vehicle similar to the missing Dart.

Campbell-Mott said she last spoke to Logan on Sunday and that he seemed to be in a good mood.

Earlier this week, the mother of the missing teen, Carrie Campbell-Mott, issued a plea to the public for the pair's safe return on social media and a Florida Missing Child Alert was issued for Mott on Tuesday. Call 911 if you see him. They have identified him as a person of interest in the death of his grandmother, deputies wrote in a Facebook post.
