Ultimately, the continued controversy swirling around Maynard led to his exit from I'm A Celebrity, which is now in its 17th season on ITV.
Numerous tweets sent in 2012, when Maynard was a teenager, resurfaced earlier this week, in which he used racial and homophobic slurs.
While the star, who is Conor Maynard's brother, left the jungle camp under mysterious circumstances, he was keen to share all on his past and to apologise to his fans.
"I'm sorry to anyone I offended, anyone I upset, anyone I made feel uncomfortable".
Maynard told his 1.2 million subscribers he had "tweeted some bad things, some awful things, some pretty disgusting things that I'm just ashamed of". Get Me Out Of Here! campmate issued an apology after he leaving the jungle over claims he sent inappropriate messages to a teenage female fan.
Jack, who is singer Conor Maynard's younger brother, also insults the girl when she says: "I don't know you, you're like a guy's brother of YouTube".
"Growing up I was all over social, my entire life was on social media an through that it led to be my job".
He said he was "young" and "careless" when he posted them. I said some really inconsiderate things.
With a brand spankin' new season on I'm a Celebrity 2017 having only just made it's (very welcome) way back on our screens, you could be fooled into thinking it's all sunshine and roses for the celebrity jungle.
He went to admit that he was "gutted", saying: "I'm just so embarrassed, we've had such an unbelievable year".
They said Maynard agreed with the decision to leave the show, which was "made by his representatives and ITV".
He continued: "This is a video I never wanted to have to make".
In a statement released at the time, a spokesperson said: "In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' - filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to".
According to The Sun, disgraced YouTuber Jack, 22, is thought to be "serious" about the glamour model, despite giving the impression that he was single on the ITV reality show, from which he was removed on Tuesday for misconduct online.
