The NCAA announced on its men's soccer tournament selection show Monday afternoon that the Spartans will be seeded No. 7 with a first round bye, with a little pep talk from Tom Izzo.

W&M (11-4-5) will be making its 16 NCAA tournament appearance but its first since 2013. It's the first Omaha program, other than hockey, to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

The Irish drew the No. 12 seed into the 2017 NCAA tournament, and will host the victor of Wisconsin and UIC on Sunday at 6 p.m. (ET) inside Alumni Stadium. UVA has hosted at least one NCAA tournament match in each of the last 37 years.

N.C. State (8-5-4) is in the tournament for the first time since 2009.

The Tribe, which won the Colonial Athletic Association championship as the No. 5 seed, will host Columbia Thursday night at Albert-Daly Field. Tritz has a 0.00 goals-against average and a 1.000 save percentage.

The Cavaliers will make their 39th appearance overall in the NCAA Tournament in which own a 62-31-5 record. The victor will visit Michigan State (11-3-3), the No. 7 overall seed in the 48-team field, in the second round Sunday. It was the Monarchs' second conference championship in four years. Senior Jeff Caldwell made three saves in the ACC Championship game to post his sixth shutout of the season. The third round is slated for November 25 and November 26, while the quarterfinals will take place December 1 and December 2.
