'Happy' Philippe Coutinho plays down talk of switch from Liverpool to Barcelona

Klopp's Liverpool are still fighting in Europe and relying on Coutinho to help them at least finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

"I'm 100% fit", he said.

Barcelona will cash in on three midfielders to free up space and funds to sign Philippe Coutinho in January, according to reports in Spain.

The Brazilian playmaker will be hoping to feature for Liverpool when the Reds return to Premier League action after the global break with a home clash against Southampton.

Asked how he feels at Anfield having been denied the chance to join Barca, Coutinho said: 'I'm playing in one of the biggest leagues in the world.

"I'm always happy. At the moment I am very happy with my life".

"I had an injury and I missed three matches but now I'm coming back and I'm 100% ready for this match". I am honoured to wear this shirt whenever I can. While talking to sports journalist ahead of England's clash at the monumental Wembley Stadium, Coutinho said he was disenchanted for not representing the past three games for the Reds because of his injury.

I have been told that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will have the final say on whether the club will allow Coutinho to leave in January, but the player's camp are optimistic that the deal will go through. "They will be really motivated".

Keeping him long-term may be hard if he's so eager to move to the Camp Nou, but at least in the summer they'll have a better chance of lining up a replacement. It will be a great game.
