Google Home Speakers Now Act as Intercoms in Canada and Beyond

For now, the new command will activate all connected speakers that are associated with the Google Assistant account.

If you have Google Assistant on your phone, you can now shout out a message to all your Google Home speakers, allowing families to get their kids out of bed or remind granny to pick up the phone.

Google has updated its Google Home speaker lineup so that you can easily send a message to everyone in your home or office.

You can now use your Google Home devices as an intercom system. You can do this by opening the Google Home app tap Devices in the top-right corner tap the Menu icon for the Google Home device card Settings Do not disturb. For example, if you say, "OK Google, broadcast it's dinner time", a dinner bell will begin to chime across all your Google Home devices.

However, it must be noted that the Google Assistant used in all the devices is linked to the same account.

Google has customized certain activities like waking up, dinner, and bedtime with a "playful message" and sound.

Using the steps above, you can broadcast a custom message, either when you are in the house to other rooms or from your smartphone when you are on your way home. You can even do this from outside the house; you don't need to be at home to make your voice heard throughout the house.

Where is this feature available?

One can also let the concerned people know if they are on their way by speaking to the Google Assistant on their phones. The iPhone X, Apple's most recent flagship, includes Face ID, a feature that is expected to be incorporated into all of the company's 2018 iPhones.
