Chelsea's N'Golo Kante facing three weeks out - Antonio Conte

Chelsea will be without influential midfielder N'Golo Kante after he was ruled out with a hamstring injury that he picked up while away with the French squad.

Kante picked up the injury whilst on worldwide duty with France and is now undergoing weekly scans with Chelsea's medical team.

Conte will also be without Danny Drinkwater as he's still nursing a calf problem so the Blues boss may be forced in to a slight tactical change with Cesc Fabregas alongside Tiemoue Bakayoko in a midfield two. You try to find a solution and you can lose in the defence. "As for Morata I hope I will recover him in time for the Roma clash".

"Drinkwater is progressing well but he's not ready yet". But for sure it's a hamstring problem and this is a big loss for us.

"We are not lucky in this period. We may have to adapt some defenders into midfielders". "For me David is one of the best central defenders".

David Luiz could be also an alternative midfield option having already been deployed in the position against Tottenham earlier in the season. When I chose to utilise him in midfield against Tottenham, could be an option if I decide to play three midfielders. However, the duo Conte admits he will have to rotate, meaning 19-year-old Scott and 17-year-old Ampadu could be given a chance during Kante's absence.

"If I can, I prefer not to change a lot".

Morata didn't play for Spain over the last fortnight, but Conte hopes he will return to face Roma at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
