Plenty of details were kept under wraps but now the elegant convertible has been revealed in full - and it doesn't disappoint, combining the alluring looks of its coupe sibling with a fabric soft top for open-air cruising.

This morning, Aston Martin unveiled the new DB11 Volante, luxury convertible that is part of a resurgence of the British luxury carmarker that has been enjoying skyrocketing sales of its DB11 coupe, which it introduced earlier this year. This setup allows the convertible to sprint from 0-62 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds before topping out at 187 miles per hour, making it only a tenth of a second slower off the line than the V8-powered coupe.

Aston Martin is now taking orders for the DB11 Volante, which starts just north of $216,000.

DB11 Volante development prototypes were put on test in locations including Death Valley and the Arctic Circle. It takes just 14 seconds to lower and 16 to close, and can be operated remotely from the key or at speeds up to 31 miles per hour. That makes the Volante only a tenth slower to 60 than the coupe, and their top speeds are identical. Drivers can control the hood remotely via the key, and can operate it at speeds of up to 31 miles per hour.

Say hello to the latest evolution of Aston Martin's iconic convertible sports GT. Thanks to the aforementioned stack height, the DB11 Volante also has 20 percent more trunk room when compared to the DB9 Volante that it's replacing.

The open-topper is powered by a new 4.0-litre twin-turbo 510bhp V8 engine and is built around the all-new bonded aluminium structure first seen in the Coupe. The result is a truly magnificent vehicle. Deliveries for the new Aston Martin DB11 Volante will begin in Q1 2018, with prices starting at $216,495 in the US.
