The Saints pulled the plug on the Adrian Peterson experiment after four games, trading him to Cardinals Tuesday reportedly for a conditional 2018 sixth round draft pick. Peterson had not been frequently used with New Orleans, hoping that the Cardinals and their depleted running back situation provide a haven of touches going forward.
Kidding aside, it's fair to wonder what Peterson has left in the tank. "I got a text from a friend and it was like "911" which was kind of odd so I kept looking at my phone and the next text was "you got traded to Arizona" and I'm like getting excited but you get rumors and stuff like that so I didn't know for sure", said Peterson.
Peterson is in the first year of his professional career as a member of a team that isn't the Minnesota Vikings.
When asked about his thoughts on the 32-year-old running back, coach Bruce Arians said he was a "violent runner who still has it". And this is after he played in just three games last season because of injury, and managed 1.9 yards per carry.
Arguably one of the greatest National Football League running backs is now an Arizona Cardinals. Arizona plays host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday afternoon.
