Two IAF Garud commandos, two militants killed in gunfight in J&K

Kalia said the Garud commandos participated in the operation for the operational experience and training. "As the forces were closing in, the hiding terrorists fired upon them around 5 am, resulting in injuries to jawans. Later two militants were also killed in the gun fight", he said.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Virdhi Kumar Birdi told reporters that the slain militants were Abu Baker alias Ali Baba and Nasrullah Mir of Lashkari-e-Taiba (LeT). Internet services have also been snapped until further orders by the authorities.

Bandipore- In a fierce shootout between government forces and the militants during wee hours on Wednesday in Hajin area of North Kashmir's Bandipore district two two Air Force commandos and an equal number of militants were killed. The soldiers, as well as the militants, were killed after the security forces launched a cordon search operation in the Hajin area of Bandipora district after being informed of the presence of terrorists in the area, early on Wednesday, he said.

The operation was going on till last reports were received, he added.
