Burton's encounter with Affleck was recalled by Burton on Twitter in reply to a fan who brought up the incident.

Hilarie Burton claims that Ben Affleck groped her when she worked on MTV's TRL in 2003.

After Affleck gave his two cents about the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal, one fan told Ben that he should have kept quiet about it considering he himself once groped Burton on TRL. "Everyone forgot though (sic)".

Hilarie said on Twitter: 'Seriously, thank you for that.

Hilarie, 35, responded: 'I didn't forget'. In the clip Affleck pulls Losique into sitting on his lap, talks about the firmness of her breasts, and proposes she take her top off.

Burton, who was 21 at that time, said that she didn't know how to react then and laughed it off in a nervous situation.

On Wednesday, Affleck tweeted, "I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize".

Later in the video he goes on to say: "Don't make me look like I am retarded!"

Affleck's statement, and McGowan's response to it, came in the wake of a bombshell New Yorker report that alleged Weinstein had raped three women. The press conference I was made to go to after my assault.

Weinstein is now facing a number of allegations involving sexual harassment and assault.

Affleck also faced flack from actress Rose McGowan, who is among the women accusing Weinstein of sexual harassment on Twitter after the "Justice League" star released a statement on the producer.

"You said that to my face", McGowan wrote. It was Weinstein who loved Affleck and Matt Damon's script for the 1997 drama "Good Will Hunting" so much that he pushed the movie into production.

On Tuesday, Affleck, whose career got a boost after starring in films produced by Weinstein, broke his silence in a long Facebook post. "I'm just like, 'What are you doing?' ..."
