Five people, including at least three women, were found murdered at a house in Mansarovar Park in northeast Delhi on Saturday morning.
Commenting on the multiple killings that took place inside a house at Mansarovar Park of Shahdara district, the investigating police official said that during the primary investigation of the house, the police have recovered a sharp weapon.
As the dazed nephew entered the drawing room, he found his cousins - bloodied and sprawled on the floor, a police officer said. The fifth murder was a guard named Rakesh (50). While reports claimed that the murder may be linked to a possible property dispute, The Times of India report noted that the police is still interrogating the family members to understand the possible reasons behind the killings. We have registered a case and have started investigations and efforts are on to nab the culprits.
The 42-year-old guard was killed on the ground floor and the women on the first.
Most old-time residents of Shahdara know the "Jindal Oil Mills", located next to the GT Road, as a local landmark.
The house is located in a compound where seven families comprising 40 members reside. Urmila's husband Brij Bhushan had passed away couple of years ago. All five had their throats slit. "Two of them were unmarried and one was a widow", the DCP said.
The Jindals have been living in the area since 1931 and are a business family.
Police suspect that the murder was committed by people who were known to the family. "It looks like the accused were professional killers", the woman said.
Four of the deceased belonged to the same family.
