Mauricio Pochettino cites reason for Tottenham key man's reduced game

"If he in time shows he is great or one of the best in the world in one position, okay, that is fantastic for him", Pochettino said.

"He provides very good energy to the team - he won the World Cup, he's played for some of the biggest clubs in the world". It is too hard for me to find the word to describe him because in the last three seasons I am telling you how he is.

"I think the cat is out of the bag now". He's so humble. I think yes, I am in love with him.

Home fans chanted "sacked in the morning" at manager Slaven Bilic when his side trailed 3-0, and while his approval rating may have improved after a rousing comeback, his team remain near the foot of the table.

"We have a very good communication with the doctor, physio, sports science, coaching staff to try to help him". You know like me, I told you before, that this means more than three points.

"He is definitely one of the best in the world".

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood expects Harry Kane to leave the club next summer if they fail to win a major trophy this season. "The next challenge is to win there".

Spurs were leading 3-1 at the time after a first-half double from Harry Kane and second half goals from Christian Eriksen and Javier Hernandez, but West Ham made it a nervy finish after Cheikhou Kouyate's thumping header on 86 minutes.

MF Dele Alli, 8 - Beaten to a near-post header when West Ham pulled their first goal back, he nonetheless set up both of Kane's strikes, sending in a cross from the right side and then having a shot saved by Joe Hart, with the rebound falling to his teammate.

Mauricio Pochettino insists new Tottenham signing Serge Aurier will learn from the sending off which almost cost his side dear against West Ham.

"Wednesday we had a dinner in a restaurant in London with all the staff and players and I paid the bill", Pochettino revealed.

"I am so happy".

"To play in different positions adds more value to the player and that is why we are so happy with him".

"We are disappointed we lost the game", said Bilic.

The 32-year-old was in good form for the Swans last season, scoring 15 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.

With that in mind, Mauricio Pochettino has done his best to help them settle in.
