The Kentucky Wildcats (2-0) will step up their competition considerably when they face the South Carolina Gamecocks (2-0) as they open SEC play on Saturday.

Kentucky believes it can extend the hold its had on the Gamecocks the past few years.

Benny Snell rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns as Kentucky opened SEC play by extending its winning streak over SC to four games with a 23-13 victory in Columbia, S.C., on Saturday. The Wildcats have run for over 200 yards in each of the wins.

"They whipped us up front", Muschamp said of Kentucky. Here are four key factors for USC in Saturday night's game at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Samuel had five catches for 122 yards and a touchdown, his sixth this season.

The Gamecocks came up short on three consecutive runs in the third quarter, including back-to-back zero-yard gains from Turner on third and fourth down at the 49-yard line.

The junior wide receiver had six touchdowns in three games for SC this year. Both Johnson and coach Mark Stoops insisted that was a planned move to give Barker some snaps after an injury.

He has also scored two TDs on kick returns this season. That discussion appears over.

"He's an outstanding teammate and an outstanding friend", quarterback Jake Bentley said, according to The State. Bentley finished 24-for-35 for 304 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Ware recalls how quiet things got as he ran toward the end zone. "I felt good about the call". The Wildcats rank 11th nationally with a per-game average of 58.5 yards and held EKU to just 62 last week. Bentley and the Gamecocks tried to rally late, as the quarterback hit OrTre Smith on a 9-yard pass for the freshman's first career touchdown, cutting the score to 20-13 with 6:26 remaining.
