Why Paris Saint-Germain was the only team for Kylian Mbappe

Debutant Kylian Mbappe starred on Friday in Paris Saint-Germain's 5-1 rout of Ligue 1 opponents Metz in a match played at Stade Saint-Symphorien.

"When the season finished in May, my idea was to stay".

"I met with Arsene Wenger, who is a great coach", Mbappe. Even Guardiola can not tell me what I know.

"We talked about it and he asked me what I thought".

Monaco may have sold a swathe of top players but the club said Thursday they will invest €50 million (RM252.5 million) on the training ground that helped produce the 2017 French champions.

"He's really a coach who breathes football", he said.

"Well, I believe that we were on the case a year ago", Wenger was quoted as saying by Sky Sports ahead of Saturday's English Premier League (EPL) home game against Bournemouth. Great players win everywhere they go.

"Mbappe added: "[Dembele and I] have a passion for football. It's important to explain these things.

The France worldwide was expected to head to Madrid for much of the window, but plumped for Paris as he believed there would be greater opportunities for valuable minutes on the pitch.

The 18-year-old will play alongside Neymar, who completed a world-record switch to PSG from Barcelona, with Dembele signed as his replacement at Camp Nou.

That question, at least, has now been answered by the player himself who has revealed, as reported by Sky Sports, that he did consider coming to play for Arsenal under Wenger.

That's the beauty of Dream Team Weekender - there are no budget limitations so you can pick any player available from this weekend's fixtures, with Man City v Liverpool the pick of the bunch. I just feel at Paris, I will have more chances compared to Madrid.
