It was the Dodgers first visit to the brand new stadium, located north of Atlanta in area of Cumberland, and they christened their first visit with a win, their 40th in their last 46 games. The four-time American League All-Star with the Texas Rangers will join Los Angeles on Wednesday, but he won't make his Dodgers debut until Friday against the Mets in NY. The 23-year-old right-hander surrendered all three runs while scattering six hits with no walks and three strikeouts in six innings. Cody Bellinger led the way, going 2 for 4 with his team-leading 29th homer of the season, while Chris Taylor went 1 for 4 with an RBI double. He has five starts in left this season as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals, as he is still in the cleanup spot tonight against Kenta Maeda. He has been in and out of the Dodgers' starting rotation and his status no doubt became even more precarious with Monday's acquisition of right-hander Yu Darvish.

"I never imagined I'd play on the same team as him", Maeda said of his Japanese compatriot who is scheduled to make his debut with the Dodgers on Friday.

"The numbers are really good", Snitker said.

Teheran was 6-0 with a 2.53 ERA away from Atlanta before allowing three homers in that defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Atlanta and Los Angeles face off at SunTrust Park in a game schedule to start at 7:35 p.m. EST. Braves right fielder Nick Markakis begins the series just two hits shy of reaching 2,000 for his career.

Tony Watson, another pitcher acquired by the Dodgers at the trade deadline on Monday, made his Los Angeles Dodgers debut with a scoreless inning of relief in Ravin's stead.

Watson was given his first test when he faced one of baseball's best left-handed hitters in Freddie Freeman with the tying run on third base.

The Dodgers have gone 39-6 over their past 45 games, the best 45-game stretch in franchise history and the best in the majors since the New York Yankees also went 39-6 over a 45-game run in midseason of 1941. Ender Inciarte, Tyler Flowers and Brandon Phillips each notched a base hit in the loss as the Braves put up just four hits as a team. The Dodgers have won six of the seven starts.

Kenley Jansen closed out in the ninth. This will be Stewart's first career start against Atlanta.
