Biden's book, "Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and objective", is being released by Flatiron Books on November 14. The book looks at the death of the vice president's son, Beau, and Biden's decision not to run for president in 2016.
The website, joebidenbook.com, touts the memoir as "not just a recounting by a politician, "Promise Me, Dad" is a personal story from a father, grandfather, husband, and friend as he confronts the inevitability of devastating personal loss, while trying to balance his duty to his family and his country".
Other special guests scheduled to appear include journalist and former news anchor Dan Rather, Chilean-American writer Isabel Allende, song-writer Patti Smith and former White House photographer for former President Barack Obama, Peter Souza.
According to a prepared statement announcing the tour, Biden will reveal the big political moments of his career, the life-altering choices he made and the key traits that have helped him persevere through challenges.
Biden will stop in 19 cities as part of the tour, with Schenectady one of the smallest among them.
'I have always been fortunate to have an incredible support system around me, and I understand how many people in this country go through far worse than I have, with far less support'. "It's a lucky man who gets out of bed every morning, puts his feet on the ground, knows what he wants to do, and knows it still matters", says Vice President Biden.
The 19-city nationwide book tour kicks off November 13 in NY.
Tickets for the event are $59.50, $75, $99.50 and $125 and go on sale via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Friday July 28.
