Folks reportedly got emotional watching lil" Simba in this new world and who could blame "em?
Jackman was also seen is Disneyland at the time of this post.
The rumor was denied when TheWrap approached Jackman's representatives, who confirmed the falsified information.
Despite the majority of the world couldn't attend Disney's latest fan convention, D23, the company has chose to hold back footage from the Internet. Unfortunately, for now it seems as if this claim doesn't hold water but fans still have hope for Jackman.
It's a shame as Jackman would have made an excellent addition.
The remake will feature Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, and John Oliver as Zazu. Favreau then took the stage, and told the gathered crowd that "we know how important this is" to not tarnish the legacy of a film as beloved as The Lion King. Disney has yet to confirm this just yet, but with D23 now underway, we expect them to do so quite soon.
D23 Expo 2017 didn't disappoint with the announcement that Hugh Jackman will be voicing "Scar" and director Jon Favreau brought what I am assuming is the opening scene of the movie which is very similar and maybe even beat for beat the same as the animated opening.
